Responsible for providing in home parent education with families in the metro area, collaborating with county workers and making referrals to outside organization when needed. This is a full time position.
Detailed Description:
In Home Parent Educator will:
Develop a working relationship with both parent and child.
Assess the family’s needs and areas that the family wishes to improve.
Coordinate these goals with the goals of the Child Protection worker.
Meet with the family on a weekly basis.
Offer parents and children educational experiences that will help them succeed.
Model and coach family members to make needed changes.
Make referrals to other agencies when additional resources are needed (chemical health resources, domestic abuse resources, housing, employment, individual therapy, medication management, testing, OT, developmental evaluations, etc)
Review goals with family every three months and make adjustments as
Communicate weekly with the Child Protection Worker via email or phone call.
Document all contacts.
Write a Monthly In Home report of activities with each family.
Bachelors Degree in social work, psychology or related field with emphasis on work with children and families. Experience with Electronic Health Record systems preferred.
This position requires some evening and/or Saturday weekend hours. Services will be delivered in the client's home, the office, or in the community.
