In our mission to help providers combat compassion fatigue and burnout, we would like to invite you to this unique opportunity to relax, reset and reconnect. The Mary Ellen Strong Foundation (MESF) in partnership with Youthprise and the Catalyst Initiative of the Minneapolis Foundation presents a Wellness Retreat designed specifically for Black/African American women who are mental health providers.
The facilitators for the retreat are all Black/African American women from various healing backgrounds. Dr. Reba Peoples, a psychiatrist who specializes in functional medicine will provide education about her SMART Wellness program (https://www.imarahealthandwellness.com); Dr. Stacey Solakian, a clinical psychologist will facilitate groups on Restoration through Play and Financial Wellness; Dr. Daheia Barr-Anderson, professor of Kinesiology and Yoga Instructor will lead guided body movement sessions and Elder Atum Azzahir will lead our connecting circle times and be present throughout the weekend for one-on-one healing rituals (upon request). We will also have Certified Massage Therapist Vanessia Norris on hand to provide therapeutic massages (upon request) and Chef Lachelle Cunningham on site to prepare all meals.
The retreat will take place at Charlson Meadows, a 100+ acre property with a newly renovated lake house located in Victoria, MN. The cost is Queen Suite ($550) and Full Suite ($500) and includes all food, materials and services for the weekend. Space is limited.
Please consider giving yourself this weekend of self care as a present for all that you do for others. Also, your registration fee is tax deductible as MESF is a 501(c)(3). For more information email email@example.com or go to our website maryellenstrongfoundation.org
